I waited all night,
I stared at the phone,
So sure you would call.
I glanced at the clock,
Through teared up eyes,
Emotions fully stirred.
I went to bed,
I cried into my pillow,
But awoke to a different view...
I couldn't blame you:
I don't have service yet.

I waited all night
And I sat staring at the phone
So sure you would call.
I glanced at the clock
Blearily through my teared-up eyes
Emotions full stirred.
I went to bed and
I then cried into my pillow
But then I awoke
A different view:
I found that I couldn't blame you
I've no service yet.
Maybe a bit strained. That was more just me being bored than any sort of commentary on your writing, Frosted, so I hope you don't mind me amusing myself with that. This poem is short and sweet and funny. I think maybe putting the 'couldn't' in bold is a bit much, though. Don't want to hit the reader over the head with the irony.
